2006
In 2006 YCEDC will undertake two significant studies related to Workforce Development. The first study is an update to its 2004 Baseline Industry Cluster Analysis, that will examine changes in York's Industry Clusters over the past two years. The study will take the first steps towards industry cluster mapping using Geospatial Information Systems (GIS.) This tool will help YCEDC gain new insights into the linkages between industry employment, industrial clusters and land use planning.

The second study is a comprehensive look at workforce development programs and funding streams throughout the county. The study will inventory existing programs and funding sources, as well as potential funding sources and develop a comprehensive picture of the workforce development system in York County. The study will build on the work of the YorkCounts Commission and provide valuable information for pursuing the recommendations of the YorkCounts Report.

Both studies should be complete by fall of 2006.
