Proposed Technology Park
The Kings Mill Technology Park and Innovation Zone comprises approximately 250 acres of industrial brownfield land at the southern end of the Codorus Corridor. The project area is situated predominantly in Spring Garden Township, but includes approximately 10 acres in York city. A portion of the area is also included in York’s proposed Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ). The York County Economic Development Corporation has secured a Business in our Sites Planning grant to conduct additional studies on the entire technology park.

The proposed technology park is heavily skewed towards Research, Development and Light Manufacturing space for targeted industry clusters. The Technology Park project has the potential to combine the best of York’s industrial heritage with emerging economic and industry trends to create a dynamic research and development park adjacent to York College. Combined with the workforce attraction aspects of projects like the Northwest Triangle, this project becomes part of a powerful economic development strategy.
