PEDYC
Partnership
for Economic Development of York County
PEDYC
was formed in 1995 to stimulate economic development in York County,
primarily through the operation of Foreign
Trade Zone 147. The benefits of operating under foreign-trade
status include duty deferral, duty reduction and/or duty elimination.
In May
2007, PEDYC applied and was approved for a $20,000 grant from the
Pennsylvania Go Global Grant Program. The program is designed to
enhance the awareness of the increasing linkages between Pennsylvania
and the global economy. DCED is challenging PA's business institutions
and organizations to understand and support PA's effort to advance
the Commonwealth's international competitiveness by expanding exports
and increasing direct investment in PA.
The $20,000
grant includes $10,000 matching from FTZ 147 Partners listed below.
- Columbia

use the grant to develop marketing materials that can be used for
attracting potential foreign direct investors. PEDYC's program objectives
include:
- Publication
and distribution of data sheets and case studies that demonstrate
the value of the region as a location for international business.
Information will include both hardcopy and web-based content to
be shared with all partners in the project
- Design and
purchase of a trade show booth to be used for promoting the FTZ
147 as well as promoting the region
- Publication
and distribution of FTZ marketing materials, to include information
