IBEW Local 229 Joint Apprenticeship & Training program is a PA state registered electrical apprenticeship program. This program is college accredited. Successful applicants are put to work with local electrical contractors receiving OJT as well as classroom instruction all while earning excellent wages and benefits. IBEW Local 229 represents the best trained, most productive electrical workers in the industry. Local 229 electrical workers are employed by contractors such as I.B. Abel Inc., John Z.Barton Inc. and Pro Electric LLC, etc.

Toastmasters has grown to become a world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience. The nonprofit organization now has nearly 250,000 members, offering a proven – and enjoyable – way to practice and hone communication and leadership skills. Our meetings are held on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays of the month, from 12 PM to 1:15 PM. There is no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved.
