History of The YCEDC
The York County Economic Development Corporation (YCEDC) was formed in 1958 by the County Commissioners, local bankers, and attorneys with full support of both the York County and Hanover Area Chambers of Commerce. YCEDC's original purpose was primarily to administer state loan programs. The Corporation's focus has expanded to include the development of industrial parks, formation and spin-off of other economic development projects, and aggressive business retention and recruitment programs. Over the past several years, YCEDC has become identified as the economic development problem solver for York County. YCEDC is perceived as one of the most competent and creative economic development entities in the state.

YCEDC provides professional staff to facilitate many programs. A number of entities have been created to address a variety of economic development issues.
