YCEDC Staff Attends Business & Education Summit
The workforce committee of the Hanover Chamber Of Commerce conducted a "Business And Education Summit" on Monday, March 17th at the Hanover Hospital Wellness Center. The focus of the summit was to address how businesses both large and small can integrate millennium students into their workforce.
Five school districts, Spring Grove, Hanover South Western, Conewago Valley and Delone Catholic were represented at the summit as well as a good sampling of local business leaders.
The business perspective was addressed with presentations by Mr. Todd Kennedy, President and CEO of McClarin Plastics and Bert Eslner of Elsner Engineering Works, Inc. The Educators side was addressed by Dr. Barbara Rupp, Superintendent of South Western and Dr. Michael O'Brien, Principal of Conewago Valley School District.
Also included in the morning session was a panel discussion on how to develop a millennium student workforce model for your business. The morning concluded with an open forum informal information session for attendees to speak to educators, businesses and students about successful student recruiting efforts.
