22nd Annual York County Agricultural Banquet Held
Over 150 people from across the county joined together to honor the agricultural community. The 22nd Annual York County Agricultural Recognition Banquet was held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in Old Main at the York Expo Center. The Banquet was presented by the York County Agricultural Business Council (YCABC). The mission of the YCABC is to promote the importance of agriculture to York County's economy and way of life.

Dr. Ron Hanson of the University of Nebraska delivered the Keynote Address entitled ''The Unspoken Words'' reminding us all not to take for granted the gifts that we are given especially our family, with whom we work side by side with in our family endeavors.

Two awards were presented during the evening program. The 2008 Outstanding Farm Family Award was given to the Scott and April Cooper owners and operators of Appealing Holsteins Farm in Delta, PA. The 2008 Outstanding Ag Industry Award was presented to R.K. Vogt Grain.

A silent auction and raffle were held as fund raisers for the 4-H and the Mobile Agricultural Lab scholarships. The scholarships are available for elementary school teachers interested in bringing the agricultural lab to their students for this unique learning experience.
