YCIDA
Closes $10,500,000 Bond
The York County Industrial Development Authority
closed on York Water Company's $10,500,000 bond on October 27, 2006.
The bond will be used to fund water infrastructure improvements
throughout York County.

Circle of York (ICY) Update
The regular ICY meeting was held on November 15,
2006 at Chapps at the Hill with 18 people present. The first of
two presentations dealt with a new testing procedure for glaucoma
and the other was a process to make television programs available
on cell phones or iPods. There was significant interest in both
presentations from the group.
The next
meeting is scheduled on December 20, 2006 at Chapps. Three companies
are scheduled for the Mentoring Committee the first week of December,
two of which are York County companies.

YCEDC
Staff Attends Manufacturing Equipment Show
Under
the TEAM PA banner, Alan Cotich from YCEDC recently joined with
counterparts from Berks, Lebanon, and Allegheny counties to meet
prospects from across the globe at the largest manufacturing equipment
show in North America . PACKEXPO INTERNATIONAL, celebrating it's
50th anniversary at McCormick Place, featured 71,407
attendees, and 2,302 exhibitors spread over 1mm square feet of exhibition
halls.
The TEAM PA
booth was coordinated by Ralph Rhode from First Energy Corp. and
was one
of the 10 state or provincial economic development agencies attracting
business expansions and relocations within their communities.
NutriCore
Annual Meeting to be Held
NutriCore's
4th Annual Meeting for Stakeholders and Sponsors will be held on
December 7, 2006 at 1 PM in the Board of Directors room at the Manufacturers'
Association of South Central PA, 160 Roosevelt Ave., York.
In
addition to celebrating passing the $250,000 mark in sponsored research,
this year's program will feature a presentation by Solo Kuvibidila,
Ph.D., Associate Professor of Nutritional Sciences at Oklahoma State
University in Stillwater, OK.
Dr. Kuvibidila
was the first out-of-state recipient of a research award from NutriCore
when she was based at LSU's Research Institute for Children, New
Orleans, in the fall of 2005. Her work, on the disease resistance
benefits of mushrooms, jointly funded with the Mushroom Council,
has continued at OSU since she accepted her academic appointment
this past spring.
Other scheduled
presenters on the program will include Prof. Bob Beelman PhD and
Prof. Robert Roberts, PhD, food science researchers from PSU-University
Park, and Prof. Bob Farrell PhD, Molecular Biologist from PSU-York.
Sovereign
Bank Stadium Update
Lobar,
Inc. continues to move forward with bulk excavation of the site
and concrete footers were poured early in November. Work over the
next few weeks will focus on removal of old utilities, excavation
of the seating bowl and re-routing of a 4-foot diameter storm water
pipe that crosses the site.
The next milestone
in the development of York's new minor league baseball
team was reached when the official York Revolution logos were unveiled
Monday November 6, 2006 during a press conference at the Yorktowne
Hotel in downtown York.

Following comments by Keystone Baseball President Jon Danos and
York Revolution General Manager Matt O'Brien, O'Brien introduced
members of the York City Little League, who presented the new logo
to invited guests and media. The children wore York Revolution baseball
caps and T-shirts.
