Your Employability Skills (YES) Certificate Programs
High School YES Programs -- A Train-the-Trainer Workshop attended by thirty people was held on June 14th and 15th. Most, but not all YCAL member schools have plans to offer YES as a senior elective. The YES Steering Committee has agreed upon the goal of 100% participation from all YCAL region schools. Business representatives are now being sought to represent the interests of employers with the schools. Business representatives will also have the opportunity to assist the high school to deliver the course materials and will also have a chance to interface with tomorrow's prospective employees.
Adult YES Programs -- An Advisory Committee with participants from a wide variety of area employers is working to offer the Adult YES Program starting this fall. The prior success of the Adult Program was greatly enhanced by the heavy involvement of employer representatives to serve as instructors for individual modules. This is another great opportunity for employers to get a first hand look at prospective future employees. Interested employers should complete the response form and return it by fax to YES Operating Partnership at (717) 854-9445.
