YCIDA
Secures Purchase Option Agreement with York Rail
The York County Industrial Development Authority
(YCIDA) has secured a purchase option agreement with York Railway
Company to acquire the transloading building and land located at
the corner of Hay and Queen Streets. Without acquisition of this
critical parcel, the York Outdoor Recreation Complex (YORC) project
could not be constructed at the Arch Street location. Officials
from YCIDA and York Rail have been negotiating a purchase option
for some time, but it took a creative rail line reconfiguration
strategy to pave the way for the acquisition. Read

mitigation plans.
At the May 17
meeting, York City Council voted 3-2 to amend the Redevelopment
Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant subgrantee agreement adding
the additional $1.5 million in funding to the existing $12 million
from the Commonwealth.
