The new YCEDC
web site was launched on February 1. In addition to the new look,
more information and new features were added to make the site more
user friendly and more meaningful to the business community. Check

YCIDA
Passes Inducement Resolutions for Three York Companies
The York County Industrial Development Authority
(YCIDA) passed inducement resolutions for three York County companies
in February. The Authority authorized the issuance of tax-exempt
financing on behalf of Myers Engineered Systems, Hanover Packaging
and the York Water Company for their respective expansion projects.

Represented on AHEAD Board
In
an effort to develop entrepreneurship and be consistent with the
Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), a member of
the YCEDC staff was appointed to the AHEAD board. The mission of
AHEAD (Association for Helping Entrepreneurs Achieve Dreams) is
to help underserved entrepreneurs establish, stabilize, and expand
businesses through technical assistance, marketing training, financial
education, and community networking. AHEAD meets monthly and is
currently in the beginning of a capital campaign. For additional

EDGE
Presentation Unveiled at YCEDC Board Meeting
The EDGE program, Economic Development
for Government and Executives was presented at the February 2, 2006
YCEDC Board meeting. The presentation will be delivered to municipal
officials and community leaders in the coming months. As part of
the new marketing strategy, symposiums will be scheduled with the
five primary growth areas identified by the York County Planning
Commission to present the EDGE program.
