Angel Network Proposed
for York County
York County Economic Development Corporation (YCEDC), in partnership with the York County Chamber of Commerce and the Pennsylvania Angel Network (PAN), hosted a meeting to launch a proposed angel investor group for the York County area on February 22nd.

The York County investor group was named the Investors Circle of York (ICY) at the meeting, attended by over 45 people. Darrell Auterson, YCEDC President, discussed the fundamentals of forming an angel investor group and the foundation that must be built to ensure success. Jan Rumberger, of the Central Pennsylvania Angel Network (CPAN) and past president of PAN, also spoke on the value of angel networks and their crucial role in early stage financing, preceding venture capital.

The primary objective of the evening was to introduce qualified investors to the process and highlight potential benefits of angel investing. ICY's purpose is to identify greater capital resources to support entrepreneurship and new business development within the county. The evening provided networking opportunities and an introduction to angel investment concepts. "The angel network is a major element of a three part financial strategy that includes the formation of a banking consortium and strengthened relationships with venture capitalists," stated Mr. Auterson.
