Codorus Creek Corridor
The recent completion of a slate of major projects, and the emergence of several new ones has prompted the York County Economic Development Corporation to look at the redevelopment of the Codorus Corridor in a broader context and to look for physical and economic connections between projects that would enhance their collective impact. The concept of a “corridor” that includes the land within walking distance (approximately 1⁄4 mile) on either side is one that recognizes the fundamental role of the Codorus Creek as an organizing feature for development throughout York’s history. Combined with current efforts to address the environmental and aesthetic issues related to the waterway itself, this focus on the redevelopment of the corridor will help return the Codorus to its original stature as a valued community asset.
